Cape Adieu was built in 1978 for remote Cray & Shark fishing in the Great Australian Bight. Since then she has been engaged in a number of fisheries including Pearling in the Coral Sea, Cray & Shark Fishing in the Southern Ocean, and Snapper fishing in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
She has also been used as a surf charter vessel in the Spice Islands and remote Archipelago of Eastern Indonesia conducting dive charters most notably identifying the wreck of the Sanyo Marv off the remote Arnhem Land coast for the NT Museum.
In June 2003, Cape Adieu Harbour Cruises, a family operated business, was established and has since provided sunset dinner cruises, private functions, charters and wedding reception services to over 50,000 clients.
