Christmas Parties

The office party nobody tries to get out of. Your team, the whole boat, and a Darwin sunset doing the decorating.

Christmas in Darwin Hits Different

No snow, no tinsel in a carpeted function room. December here is the build-up: thick warm air, thunderheads stacking up over the Cox Peninsula, and a sunset that turns the whole harbour orange while everyone is still holding their first drink.

You cast off from Stokes Hill Wharf and the office is gone. Phones go down, the city lights come up behind you, and the year winds down at eight knots. Some of the storms out over the water in December are the best show in town, and you are watching it from the deck with a cold one.

Boat and Bar, Bring Your Own Feed

We run Christmas parties right through the build-up. We just don't run our signature four-course dinner over those months, so Christmas parties are boat and bar. That keeps it simple and keeps it affordable, and you get to feed your team exactly how you want to.

Bring Your Own Food

Platters. Seafood. Canapes. Bring it aboard from your favourite caterer and we will look after the rest

Fully Licensed Bar

Drinks come from our bar, so no alcohol can be brought on board. Beverage packages or bar tab, your call.

The Whole Boat, or One Deck

Up to 60 on the whole vessel. Smaller teams can take a single deck and still have it to themselves.

Speeches Sorted

PA system on board for the awards, the thank yous, and whatever the boss has prepared.

Fish First. Cruise After.

The best end of year we run is a full day on the water. We coordinate a fishing fleet, not just our cruise boat, so a big team can all fish at the same time instead of taking turns.

Five Boats, Six Anglers Each

We bring together a fleet of charter boats, each taking six guests with a local skipper and all the gear.

Two Half Day Sessions

Run morning and afternoon sessions across the fleet and 60 people get a proper fish in the one day.

Everyone Back Together

The fleet comes in, the whole group steps aboard Cape Adieu, and the sunset cruise starts.

Bragging Rights Included

Biggest fish, smallest fish, whoever got seasick. The Christmas party writes itself.

Christmas Party FAQs

Do you cater Christmas parties?

We run Christmas parties right through the build-up, we just don't run our signature four-course dinner over those months. Christmas parties are boat and bar, so you bring your own food aboard: platters, seafood, canapes, whatever suits your team. Alcohol cannot be brought on board because we are fully licensed, so all drinks come from our bar.

How many people can you host?

Up to 60 guests on the whole vessel, across three separate deck areas. Smaller teams can book a single deck and still have their own space: the Stern Deck takes 10, the Top Deck 25 and the Front Deck 30.

Can we go fishing before the party?

Yes, and it is the best day we run. We coordinate a fishing fleet, not just our cruise boat, so the whole team fishes at once rather than taking turns. Five boats carrying six guests each, run as two half day sessions, puts 60 people on the water across the day. Everyone then comes together on Cape Adieu for the sunset cruise.

How late can we book?

As early as you can, and aim for November. We wrap the season up on 30 November so the boat can come out for maintenance, which makes November the Christmas party month here. Thursday and Friday nights go first, so if you have a date in mind get it to us now and we will hold it while you sort numbers. December is not off the table, it just needs special arrangement, so send the date through and we will tell you honestly whether we can make it work.

What does it cost?

It depends on which deck you take, your numbers and your drinks package, so we quote it rather than guessing. Send your date and headcount through the enquiry form and we will come straight back to you.

What happens if it storms?

Build-up storms are usually the entertainment rather than the problem, and there is covered deck space for everyone. Being honest though, a storm can carry enough risk that we have to cancel on the night. It is unlikely, and we only do it when it is genuinely unsafe. Because we are not running a sit-down dinner we can be flexible about it, and the call is yours on the night. We are not holding food stocks either, so if a party is cancelled we only hold a small $200 cancellation fee rather than the cost of a dinner. And if the worst happens, you are standing on Stokes Hill Wharf with the whole waterfront right there, so there is no shortage of places for your crew to divert to.
